About This Course

In this course our focus will be the Tableau Desktop Public. Tableau Desktop is a user-friendly data visualization tool that allows users to create beautiful and powerful interactive data visuals using a friendly drag and drop user interface. One reason you might choose Tableau over Power BI, is that Tableau is available on Macs also, unlike Power BI which is available only on Windows PCs.

Pre-requisites:

This course does not require any prior knowledge of Tableau or data visualization. Although familiarity with any spreadsheet program would make following this course easier. This course assumes that the data sets you will be working with are properly cleaned before you start since this course focuses on the data analysis and visualization stage of the data life cycle. You will also need to create a Tableau public account for free and download Tableau Desktop Public by following this link (https://public.tableau.com).

Course Outcomes:

After finishing this course, you will be able to connect using Tableau to different file data sources including EXCEL, CSV, and Shape files, you will be able to create different types of charts and maps and add filters. You will also be able to create beautiful dashboards with Tableau.
